The article I am a criminal and so are you is about a woman who believes that like it or not everyone has committed a crime at some point or another but just never really looked at it as a serious as it was. She as well as I believe that people shouldn't be labeled as thieves, or under aged drinkers or drug abusers when most people have done this before but just haven't been caught for committing the crime. Many people have accidentally walked out the store with out paying or got the wrong change from a cashier and received no type of penalty for their actions. But when someone else does it they get labeled a convicted felon for the rest of their lives and lose many educational and job opportunities which is completly unfair to that person. So in my opinion everyone has done something that they're not proud of but yet only on a few have been convicted and that is completely unfair in my opinion.I doubt Barack Obama thinks of himself as a criminal, though he should. He has admitted to using illegal drugs during his college years -- lots, in fact. What if he thought of himself as a criminal? What if he identified that way? Would it lead him to feel a bit more compassion for those who are branded drug felons for life, unable to find work or housing, and deemed ineligible even for food stamps?" she said in her article.
